At work the other day, I got to juice lemons! I know I know, what an exciting life I live. I immediately wanted to buy a lemon press. TJ Maxx had them for about 30 dollars which really doesn’t seem like a bad price, but I thought I would try something a little lower caliber at this point in my juicing adventures. So instead I opted for a small little lemon juicer for 2.99 that I also found at TJ’s. I’m currently on my second pitcher of homemade fresh squeeze lemonade and boy is it sweet and. Life handed me some lemons and I made some lemonade. Well, actually the grocery store handed me some lemons, well actually I bought them. Anyhow, summer is the season for fresh juices and now is the time to try it for yourself. I have so far used the following recipe to make strawberry lemonade and raspberry lemonade. They are both very good, the strawberries make a really pretty pink color and the raspberries make bright and deep red color. Continue reading
Just Peachy. I don’t know the real story behind that saying, but it probably has to do with peaches being so delicious. They are by far my favorite fruit and possibly my favorite food. They are juicy, sweet, and a beautiful color. It is also a very good flavor for iced tea. Today I decided to make some peach iced tea myself with the fresh peaches I had in the fridge. I’m sipping on it right now, and it is quite tasty, refreshing and summery.
A Monday night dinner that is sure to impress? Yes! This is a very easy dinner! I prepped earlier in the day by cutting the onion, garlic, and pepper (saved the rest for salads throughout the week). I also prepped by cutting the mozzarella and bagging it, and chopping up the sausage. Doing prep work early makes the cooking go by super fast. It took me about 5-10 minutes at the most to actually cook they meal because all of the prep work was done!
Also, let me tell you a little about the sausage. I like the Al Fresco brand Chicken Sausage. They have 70% less fat than pork sausage, they are fully cooked, come in packs of four, and really tasty. Plus, they come in different flavors. I used the Sweet Italian with Bell Peppers sausages for this recipe. But they have many other varieties. My belly is very happy with the way this dinner turned out! Yours can be too!
First off, I don’t like coconuts, or coconut water, or coconut anything! But I am easily learning to love it’s benefits. Some put coconut oil in their hair, others use it as a moisturizer (my sister does this for her dry hands), my personal choice is…teeth whitening! This stuff whitens your teeth! Let’s be real, we could all use a little whitening for our pearlies. We stay out late, get home and “forget to brush” or whatever other excuses pop up. Then we get to hear from the dentists the little spiel about brushing twice a day, flossing, ya da ya da ya da. So if you want to avoid that conversation, continue reading to discover my coconut oil teeth transformation. Continue reading
Yesterday was my 19th birthday! I enjoyed a free scoop of peanut butter chocolate cookie dough ice cream. I love birthdays, but I love other peoples birthdays more than my own. I think this is because I love planning the perfect day for people and watching their excitement and gratefulness for what I have put together. And I tend to go over the top with birthday surprises for the ones I love.
My boyfriend LOVES barbecue sauce, more than anyone I have ever met. His love for BBQ is almost equal to my love for Peanut Butter. Lately I have noticed all of these pizza joints making all sorts of different varieties of pizzas; buffalo chicken, bbq chicken, and many more unique options. But you don’t even have to go out (even though we live next to a pizza place) to get these delicious options. This BBQ Chicken Pizza recipe is super easy, and delicious. Of course you can make the pizza dough yourself, but if time is not on your side, bye some pre made dough. It sounds kind of gross right, buying dough?! Believe it or not, this was probably the best pizza dough I have ever had. The crust crisped up really nicely on the outside but it was still soft and airy (like a nice baguette!) I have even heard of people going to their favorite pizza place and asking if they could buy some pizza dough. This would be perfect for your family or even if you are having guests over. I’m thinking next time I will try grilling my pizza (has anyone done this, it looks so good!)
When I think summer I think of the color yellow and I think of ice cold lemonade. Today I wanted to make a lemonade inspired dessert. This recipe is very simple and easy, it’s semi-homemade. It has a very strong lemon flavor and it is very sweet. You can make it using a boxed lemon bar make (I used Krusteaz)!
Fenway Park, Americas Most Beloved Ballpark! Going to a summer baseball game is a nostalgic experience. Going to see the Red Sox is an amazing experience! There are so many traditions in the sport of baseball; caps, Cracker Jacks, peanuts, homemade signs, a park full of people singing Sweet Caroline, and cute catchers ;). Continue reading
There is a new coffee shop down the street, and I want to try it so bad! But I’m on a budget and plus, DIY is so much more fun. When you rely on drinking coffee every morning to wake you up, it gets a little boring (but necessary!) So these syrups are great for jazzing up your morning cup. My house smells like I would imagine heaven probably smells. Anyway, these syrups are really easy to make, taste delicious, look wonderful, and are so versatile.
You can basically make any flavor you can dream of (bacon!…maybe not!) Plus they don’t have to be used in coffee…they could be used to flavor a milkshake, frosting, anything really! I made some of the cinnamon, vanilla, and macadamia nut variety. Some other flavors I would like to try include; blueberry, peppermint, donut, cookie dough, caramel, and more. I can’t wait to have my coffee tomorrow morning! Keep reading and learn how you can too! Continue reading
I have been on a weird kick lately of wanting to do woodworking and make furniture. I think that buying, restoring, and reselling furniture could be a potentially very profitable side business. If you consider it, how often do you see free furniture on the side of the road or on craigslist. Even if it’s a fixer upper, it’s free material. You can reupholster it, stain it, add a new cushion, or paint it, and then sell it off for a profit! It sounds fool proof to me. However, I am taking baby steps before jumping into anything crazy. I’ve been seeing these Bathtub Trays all over the place. You know, the plank of wood that sits over your bathtub so you can have a place to rest your things while you enjoy a bubbly bath? They are really pretty and I figured, how hard could they be to make? Today I decided that I would make one of these simple, yet, beautiful and useful trays myself. The results are quite beautiful! Continue reading to see how I did it! Continue reading
